Kirkos Bar & Resto - Ciputra World

Kirkos sempat menjadi tempat jujugan untuk hang out yang paling happening di Surabaya. Salah satu trend setter untuk tempat yang menyajikan minuman beralkhohol, di tempat yang tidak terlalu kental aura 'dunia malam' nya.
Salah satu tempat pertama juga yang menyajikan bir rasa.

Sekarang sudah cukup banyak kafe dan pub yang buka hingga larut dan menyajikan minuman sejenis, salah satunya yang ada di Ciputra World adalah My Kopi-O.

Kirkos was once the most hottest place to hang out in Surabaya. It was the trend setter that makes a cozy bar that's mainstream and breaking the mold of the seedy places that usually serves alcohol like night clubs and other nightlife venues. This was also the first place where I try beer with flavor.

Now there's various other places that's also caters the same menu and serving clients until late night, and for an alternative place to get flavored beer, you can try Kopi-O just one story bellow.

Kirkos 'Pizza', puff pastry with pizza topings

Kirkos 'Pizza'

Saya termasuk agak cerewet soal urusan pizza (dan kopi) jadi untuk pizza yang dibuat dengan model puff pastry seperti ini, agak tidak cocok dengan selera. Rasa toppingnya biasa dan model rotinya yang menggunakan puff pastry untuk pengganti pizza dough, membuat rasanya lebih mirip roti topping pizza daripada the real pizza.

I might be a bit picky on pizza (and coffee too) so for this puff pastry with pizza topping, I wouldn't recommend you to try. The toppings are so-so, nothing really stands out, replacing a dough with a puff pastry like thing is a bad way to cut corners on pizza making.

Chicken Steak

Dari pilihan makanannya, saya paling menggemari steaknya. Standard rasa di Kirkos memang tidak terlalu istimewa, tapi cukup ok untuk ukuran mall. Walau masih di bawah Wagyu Smith (GC) tapi untuk tempat ia memiliki ciri khas yang lebih menarik dibandingkan suasana standard resto steak.

From what I've tried, I like their steak better than the other dishes. It's not that special, but considering it's a mall eateries, it's quite good for the standards. Though still no on par with Wagyu Smith (Grand City Mall, haven't tried the CW branch yet) but it's not bad either. The chicken steak are moist, with a nice sauce to accompany.

Kirkos - Terrace Seating

Lokasi dan temanya cukup menarik untuk yang gemar foto, masalahnya di sini ada prasyarat membayar untuk 1 jam Rp 300.000 dan untuk 2 jam Rp 550.000 untuk penggunaan tempat sebagai setting foto prewedding (mendapat snack & drink). Kadang saya ditegur saat mengambil foto di dalam menggunakan DSLR. Kadang bisa juga sedikit dibiarkan mengambil foto, tapi secara umum, tidak diperkenankan mengambil foto menggunakan DSLR. Karenanya saya jadi relatif jarang ke sini, sebab saat berkumpul / reuni bersama teman, butuh foto group, kalau di sini jadinya harus kucing-kucingan dalam mengambil foto.



The theme and setting of the place is quite nice for taking photos. The problem is they charge Rp 300.000 for an hour and Rp 550.000 for 2 hours of photo taking (drinks and snack included), and most of the time they do not allow us to take photos using DSLR. 
While sometime I get lucky and the staff would just let me click away, the general rule is that you shouldn't expect to able to take a photo with DSLR here. Which is quite a bummer because we sometime needs to take picture of friends on reunion and other social gathering.

Kirkos - Bir Rasa

Saat saya ke sana ada promo buy 2 get 3 untuk bir rasa-nya. Bir rasa adalah bir dengan tambahan sirup dengan berbagai pilihan rasa seperti vanila dan peach.

Cukup menarik, tapi perlu diingat kalori dalam bir tanpa ditambah gula dari sirup sudah cukup besar. Bisa membuyarkan program diet :D

At the time of my visit, there was a promo on their flavored beer. Buy 2 get 3, which was quite a bargain. The beer are flavored with a choice of syrup, such as vanilla and peach. Keep in mind though that this beer already packs a lot of calories, and adding sugary syrup would really pile it up.
