Nona Manis - Grand City

Kafe dengan masakan Indonesia yang cukup enak, itulah kesan saya tentang Nona Manis di Grand City mall. Salah satu kafe dengan dekor yang menarik dan eye catching. Bulan-bulan pertama buka sempat kurang populer, kemungkinan karena minim promo sehingga sempat kalah dengan chain kafe serupa. Pengunjung mall (termasuk saya :p) memang termasuk yang paling mudah tergoda promo kartu kredit.

Kalau kebanyakan kafe menyajikan menu western sederhana seperti sandwich dan salad saja, di kafe ini anda akan disuguhi makanan Indonesia sebagai teman minum. Rasa masakannya pun cukup lumayan, dan porsinya cukup mengenyangkan.

A Cafe that serve good Indonesian food, that is my impression on Nona Manis Cafe at Grand City mall. Literally it's name translates as 'Sweet Young Lady', which is suitable for it's nicely designed cafe with some retro elements on the furnishing. This Cafe had been around quite a while since the late 2010, but just lately become popular. At first they didn't do a credit card promotion discounts, which every other cafe in Surabaya malls seems to do, and that did have an effect. Nowadays people seems to don't really fret about it that much, since they're looking for a good taste instead of just value.

In a different move to other 'me too' cafes, here they don't serve the usual suspects of cafe dishes, which usually consists of small bites of salad, sandwich or burgers, instead they specializes in Indonesian food. For a cafe, they serve quite a delicious meals, which also decently proportioned.

Kalau ingin membawa anak, tempat ini juga cukup sesuai. di beberapa tempat disediakan TV yang menyiarkan acara kartun untuk menghibur si kecil.

You can also bring children here, since they put TV up, your little ones can be entertained (distracted? ^^) easily with Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon shows

Yang ini adalah minuman yang sedang trend di Surabaya, jelly kelapa. Di dalam kelapanya tidak lagi berisi air kelapa tapi dibuat menjadi jelly

This one is a particularly new trending dessert in here, Coconut Jelly. Instead of the usual coconut water, they use agar-agar to solidify the water and you get a delicious treat.

Nasi Goreng Keju - Rp 30.000

Hidangan mie kuah ini tidak saya rekomendasikan, rasanya kurang sedap dan membosankan.

I forgot what this noodle dish name was, but I don't recommend you for having this, it's a bit tasteless and boring.

Salah satu hidangan favorit di sana adalah hidangan buntut sapinya, disajikan dengan sup pendamping. Ada dua pilihan hidangan buntut, buntut goreng dan buntut bakar, selera saya lebih cocok dengan buntut bakarnya dibandingkan yang goreng.

One of the favourite dishes there is the oxtail dishes. You have two choice of it, one is grilled and the other is friend in a light batter, and it comes with a soup. We liked the grilled one better but the fried one didn't disappoint.
