Papa Ron's Pizza Ciputra World

Di ujung Surabaya, dekat dengan salah satu kampus tempat menimba ilmu, ada sebuah mall yang cukup mentereng dengan konsep superblok pertama di Surabaya. Satu lokasi dengan universitas dan apartment, City of Tomorrow / Cito Mall.
Sayangnya animo masyarakat ternyata tidak seheboh harapan awal. Mungkin karena lokasinya relatif di ujung Surabaya dan untuk menjangkaunya harus melewati berbagai kemacetan sepanjang jalan protokol, Ahmad Yani.

This Paparon's Pizza is located in the far end of Surabaya City. Close to one of the college that I went to, this superblock was the talk of town back when it started project. Combining mall with apartment and university in one place, City of Tomorrow seems to be a success story in the making.
Turns out it had to struggle a bit, maybe due to the location which is quite far form city center and for people inside the city, we had to brace trough heavy traffic to get here.

Lokasi nya cukup unik, tidak bertempat di dalam resto tertutup tapi langsung di tengah atrium mall Cito. Karena tempat makannya terbuka, ada nuansa mirip kafe seperti excelso dibandingkan dengan resto pizza sejenis.
Dapurnya terletak di area toko di sampingnya, tertutup tapi konsepnya open kitchen. Kita bisa mengamati proses masak di dapurnya melalui kaca.

Their location is quite unique, instead of an enclosed restaurant area, the dining area is right in the center of the mall atrium. The kitchen is located in the conventional store area on the side of the atrium. It's enclosed, but it's an open kitchen area. You can peek through the glass to see the kitchen staffs in action.

Paparons Pizza - Salad Rp 26.000

Saladnya berukuran amat besar, mangkoknya sekitar 2x lipat ukuran mangkok salad pizza hut. walaupun tidak ada salad bar, dan saladnya tersedia ready made untuk dipesan, tapi ukurannya cukup besar dan amat mengenyangkan.

Their salad is quite big, the bowl is about twice of what local pizza hut chain serves. Though instead of the self service salad bar, you get this salad already assembled by the kitchen staff, it's still very generously portioned and quite filling.

Soup of the day (just add Rp 3.000 when you get the salad)

Rasa Pizza nya enak, adonannya sedikit lebih tipis daripada pizza hut, jadi tidak terlalu eneg. Tanpa dikasih tambalan sosis keju dan stuff crust lainnya sudah terasa lezat.

The pizza taste great, they make the dough thinner than pizza hut's, so it's more appetizing. Without any stuffed crust, it already tastes nice.

Untuk lasagnanya, si Paparon's unggul jauh dibanding pilihan serupa di pizza joint lain. Di sini lebih terasa otentik seperti italian restaurant dibandingkan fast food joint.

For the Lasagna, Paparon's take a huge lead in comparison to other pizza joint. This lasagna tastes more like what you'll get from an Italian restaurant rather than just a fast food joint.
