Menyambung review tentang kafe Excelso, berikut salah satu kafe yang cukup cozy tapi masih kalah populer, padahal empunya kafe adalah PTPN XII, alias Perkebunan Nasional.

Following my previous review of the Excelso Cafe, here's another nice and cozy cafe that's equally nice but not as popular. This kafe was backed by an equally big company, the state owned PTPN XII, our national plantation company.

Kesempatan beberapa kali ke sini, beebrapa kali puas, tapi sempat satu kali cukup kecewa.

Pengalaman puas dahulu, dua kali memesan minuman cold blended, salah satunya dengan sirup jeruk, rasanya wenak powl.

Yang mengecewakan adalah minuman panasnya, french vanilla, rasanya tidak seperti standard kopi yang dibuat dengan mesin espresso, di bagian bawahnya juga ada residu bubuk. At best, mungkin bubuknya dari coklat bubukan atau sejenisnya, sedangkan kopinya tetap espresso.  Kemungkinan terburuk, minumannya dibuat dari bentuk bubukan, alias seperti kopi instant.

I've had mixed experience here, visited the place 3 times, 2 time was good, the last one was not. On the two good occasion I ordered a cold blended drinks, one with an orange syrup mixed in the cold coffee, I know it sounds strange, but the blend is actually quite nice. 

The 3'rd time I ordered a french vanilla something drinks, and it felt quite awful. A hot beverage, which tasted a bit like instant coffee, there's a bit of powder left in the bottom of my cup. At best the powdery stuff might be some chocolate or something similar, and the coffee is not made out of instant sachet-ed coffee. At worst, it might just be an instant coffee served in a cafe...

Menu makanannya cukup lumayan untuk ukuran kafe, rasa nasi gorengnya sih biasa, chicken wingnya sedikit kering. Favorit saya ayam bakarnya, rasanya cukup enak. Sepertinya hidangan Indonesianya lebih enak daripada hidangan barat, wajar mengingat kafenya bertema Indonesia banget. Terlepas dari rasa yang mungkin ada pesaing yang lebih enak, untuk tempat di sini termasuk cukup enak dan privasi tamu terjaga.

Their food is quite nice for cafe standards. The fried rice is nothing special, and the Chicken Wing is a bit dry. My own favorite is the Grilled Chicken which tatste nice and moist, the sambal sauce is also delicious. The Indonesian cuisine seems to be marginally better than the western ones.
Taste-wise there are other better selections, some cafes have better food and worse drinks and the other way around, but the place design is really nice, very private and cozy.
