Dahulu, kalau seseorang menyebut foodcourt, yang terbersit di benak adalah tempat makan kaipang yang isinya gerai makanan siap saji, baik yang waralaba internasional maupun nasional. Sekarang sudah banyak berubah, tiap mall berusaha memberikan pilihan makanan yang berbeda dengan mall lain, seperti di Galaxy Mall yang memiliki dua tempat foodcourt, satu untuk makanan daerah Surabaya dan satu lagi yang bebas untuk waralaba internasional. Dua gerai yang pernah saya ulas di foodcourt GM adalah Babi Guling Murni dan Depot Anda

Yang lebih ekstrim lagi ada foodcourt mewah ala Food Channel - Lenmarc, walaupun terakhir agak menurun mutunya.

A while back, when you mention the word Foodcourt in Surabaya, what comes in mind is those flimsy eateries, with those same food franchises. Choosing a mall's foodcourt was a matter of distance rather than option back then. Nowadays things have change a lot, malls are differentiating themselves by offering unique food stalls on their foodcourt. One example is in Galaxy Mall where they have two sections of food courts. One is for the international franchise, while the other catered towards local food proprietor. Two of the local food stalls I've tried in Galaxy Mall is Babi Guling Murni and Depot Anda.

Another slightly over the top option, is Food Channel - Lenmarc, though it's been slipping in quality nowadays.

Kedai Baba Liem - Food Court Ciputra World

Nuansa food stall nya di sini sedikit berbeda dengan food court kebanyakan yang ala kadar, di sini desain dan pencahayaannya cukup diperhatikan sehingga bisa memberi nuansa yang menarik.

Kedai Baba Liem dan Kedai si Mbok ini dua di antaranya yang cukup menarik.

The food stalls here is quite different with other food stalls that usually doesn't care about creating good design and ambiance. Here they put a good emphasize on interior design.
Two of the notable example is Kedai si MBok and Kedai Baba Liem.

Untuk makanan di Kedai si Mbok, saya mencoba Semanggi dan Nasi Goreng Jawa. Untuk rasanya, termasuk standard. Mirip dengan cabangnya yang di Grand City. 
Song Mie dan Vietnam Spring roll ini juga sedikit di bawah ekspektasi, tapi masih ok, terutama mengingat tempatnya cukup nyaman dibanding food court sejenis di mall lain.

The food here is quite ok, I tried the vegetable dish, Semanggi and Javanese Fried Rice. The taste is quite ok, though nothing spectacular. The food in Kedai si Mbok is quite similar to their other branch in Grand City. The Noodle (Song Mie) and Vietnamese Spring Roll is also below my expectation, but it's still decent for the price, at least you get a comfy atmosphere.

Es Puter Scoopy ini termasuk lumayan enak menurut teman-teman saya, baik rasa maupun porsinya menurut mereka cukup ok.

This Ice Puter Scoopy gets quite an accolade amongst my friends, they like the taste which is quite nice, and the portion is decent.
