Menginap di Airport Haneda (Tokyo - Jepang)
Spending The Night at Haneda Airport
Haneda Airport Tokyo |
Tokyo have two big and beautiful international airports, one in Narita, which is 60km from downtown Tokyo. Narita usually is used by Garuda Indonesia airline (you can check the flights here). The other one is Haneda Airport, which is just recently renovated, it's located adjacent to city center which is convenient. I was using Air Asia during this trip and the airport they used was Haneda airport. From Haneda to Asakusa, the area where I stayed, we only need to pay monorail ticket fare of 600 Yen or Rp 60.000.
Airport Officers Guiding Guests / Petugas Bandara Membimbing Tamu |
Though we're only using an LCC, the service provided by airport officers here is remarkable. Worlds apart from what we got from KLCC Malaysia where the feeling was similar to getting off a bus, chaotic and uncomfortable.
Even though we were using regular stair instead of jet-way (to save on costs I presume) the guests was treated really good, none of the officers called us loudly to follow them or such, they just greeted and show us politely where to go. A prime example of Japanese manner which I highly respect.

Keikyu Line Subway in Haneda Airport / Kereta Bawah Tanah Keikyu di Bandara Haneda |
For those using Air Asia like me, you'll be arriving here quite late, at 22.15. The last train out of this place would be departing on 24.00, so you got one and a half hour to clear immigration counter and baggage claim to catch it. We ended up on the train station at about 23.00, which leaves plenty of time to catch the trains. There's two station outside baggage claim, which only took 5 minute walk to reach, so it's quite convenient.
Since we weren't sure we'd be able to catch the train, we decided earlier to just stay at the airport for the night.

There's two line of train you can choose from, the Keikyu Subway line and Monorail, whichever you choose depends on you're route.
I don't recommend getting a taxi, if you missed the last train, you'd be better off saving your dough and just spend the night at the airport. Taxi fare from Haneda to Asakusa would costs about 8.000 yen or Rp 800.000.

Here are the shops you'd find around Haneda. This were composed of the picts from my arrival day close to midnight and the departure day (around 7pm), the shops are open on regular hours, not 24 hours.
A small number of restaurant also open their door 24/7, but the options are very limited.

Duta Budaya Jepang - Hello Kitty

Lantai 5 - Observation Deck Haneda
This is one of the most interesting place in the airport, apart from the observation deck, there's also Pop Town and Cool Zone that features interesting products of Japan. Very entertaining, recomended for those who just like window shopping or actually shopping for goods and souvenirs.
5'th Floor Haneda Hall |
This hall is also the favorite sleeping spots for tourist, since it's quite secluded, not many people come here at night, so it's quite private. Apart from privacy, there's also lots of electrical outlet, where you can use freely to charge your mobile devices

Sleeping in Haneda Airport's Chair

On my arrival date in Haneda, I saw plenty of people sleeping around the airport. By rough estimate, well over 100 people spending the night in airport chairs.
The best spot for sleeping would be in the 5'th floor as I mentioned before.
Nonetheless any spot you feel comfortable would be fine, since the security here is quite good, security and maintenance crew stroll along the airport quietly so your beauty sleep wont be disturbed.
