Kesempatan kali ini saya mencoba ke Loop, setelah menghadiri acara di Universitas Ciputra yang lokasinya berdekatan dengan lokasi tempat makan satu ini. Berhubung sudah pernah mencoba beatus, luigi dan beberapa tempat makan populer lain, kali ini mencoba yang agak unik, Seng Fatt.

Loop is quite far in the western part of Surabaya, which will take about 1 - 1.5 hour from where I work and live. So on this occasion where I was attending an event in Ciputra University, I took the chance to also dine in Loop, which is near each other. Our Choice ends up in this cute little diner, Seng Fatt.

Hidangan steamboat nya bisa dipilih sendiri seperti di XO Suki atau bisa juga pilih yang paketan untuk dua orang atau lebih. Kita memilih paket 1 seharga Rp 70.000 yang cukup untuk makan berdua.
Isinya ada telur, seafood, daging ayam, bakwan, mie dan beragam sayur mayur.


For the steamboat cuisine, you get to choose it individually, similar to what they usually serves in XO Suki, or you can choose a packaged assorted items, which we ended up choosing. We choose the set 1 which costs Rp 70.000 and consists of egg, seafood, chicken meat, meatball, noodle and some vegetables.

Kuahnya bisa dipilih antara kaldu biasa atau tom yam, kita memilih yang Tom Yam.


We got a choice of either clear stock or Tom Yam stock, and we choose the later.

Saya sebut steamboat ini aneh karena kuahnya sangat kental, apalagi dalam proses memasak, sebagian lagi airnya menguap, jadi hasil akhirnya di mangkok lebih mirip gravy daripada steamboat Tom Yam standard.

So here's my dilemma, the soup or broth is unusually thick, which makes it a gravy rather than a soup. We were all on a diet so even though we'd love to ask for more soup, we were wary of the calories. Hence we just finish the strange slurry steamboat dish at hand.

Rasa makanan dan bumbunya sebetulnya lumayan ok, hanya saja perlu cari cara untuk mengurangi beratnya serta kekentalan kaldu tom yam, sehingga tidak mengurangi kenikmatan makannya.


The food and seasonings are quite nice, though they need to lighten up on the stock base, so we don't end up having a gravy like steamboat.
