Tretes - Surabaya's Quick-Getaway Destination
Depot Sari Rasa - Tretes
Menjelang Lebaran, saya diajak mengunjungi proyek villa salah seorang teman, sekaligus rehat sejenak dari hiruk pikuk Surabaya.
Just before Eid holiday, I came with my friend to Tretes, on a work & leisure activity rolled into one. Which is a good chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of Surabaya.

- From Surabaya: Go to the Waru highway entrance and take the "Malang/Pasuruan" direction. Exit the highway/ toll road at the Sidoarjo checkpoint and continue to drive until you reach a junction (at Porong). Turn right and follow the sign to Gempol and keep driving until you see a sign on the right, stating "Tretes". The road will start to climb, rather steeply in some points. Drive up until the road turns to the left - this is the main street of Tretes.

We weren't sure where to go, and it was still day time, so the popular street vendors are still closed. Just a few minutes walk away from Hotel Surya, which is one of the biggest resort (albeit dated) in the area.

Keluhannya bukan di segi rasa, tapi di minyak yang berlebih. Harganya mungkin tidak murah untuk ukuran depot, tapi mengingat lokasinya di daerah wisata, masih termasuk ok.
Their Fried rice was quite good, my friend who had it was quite happy with it. Though they skipped breakfast, so I'm not entirely sure if it's good, or they're just really starving :D
The thing they weren't pleased about was only that the dish is very oily.
Price-wise it's not a bargain, but considering the place is in the center of tourist area, it's quite worth it.

Malamnya kita berkunjung ke lokasi di depan hotel Surya yang menjual jagung bakar dan beberapa hidangan kaki lima lainnya. Tentang lokasi populer satu ini akan saya ulas di posting berikutnya :)
Later that night we went to the street vendor area in front of Surya hotel, they sell assortment of street food.
It will be featured in my next blog post, so be sure to tune in :)
