Soto Ayam ala Surabaya / Lamongan termasuk salah satu yang paling populer. Ciri-cirinya kuahnya kental dan kaya akan rasa kaldu dan ayamnya empuk. Jagoan-jagoan soto di Surabaya seperti Cak Har, Pak Sadi dan rekan-rekannya biasanya seperti itu.
Soto satu ini berbeda dengan kebanyakan soto Surabaya, lebih mirip soto Jawa Tengah yang kaldunya sedikit ringan, menggunakan kentang, tapi dengan rasa bawang yang kuat.


Chicken Soto in Surabaya / Lamongan is one of the most popular kind. It has a distinctive strong soup, strong meaty taste with a very tender chicken meat.
This particular soto has a bit of different take, with it's soup similar to the ones in Central Java, a bit light, with a pungent smell of garlic to enhance the flavor

Kebetulan bisa menemukan kedai satu ini karena kita kecelek saat ingin pesan Nasi Goreng Pak Mo yang saat itu, lagi-lagi tutup. Sempat berputar-putar mencari tempat yang sesuai akhirnya nyasar ke tempat ini.

Tempatnya sih nyentrik untuk ukuran depot soto, dengan banyak ornamen balap motor dan foto-foto orang mengendarai sepeda motor.


We found this place by coincidence, we were going to buy a takeaway from Nasi Goreng Pak Mo which was again, closed. We drove for a few minutes around the area, and ended up here.

The place is quite peculiar for a soto diner, with plenty of racing ornament and photos of people riding sport bikes.

Soto Gokilz - Rp 14.000

 Harganya termasuk menengah mengingat tempatnya berupa depot terbuka. Masalah rasa, tergantung selera, kalau untuk saya masih lebih suka dengan standard ala Surabaya biasanya. Untuk yang seleranya soto Jawa Tengah kemungkinan suka dengan soto satu ini. Satu lagi, kuahnya mirip rasa kuah tauco yang biasanya ada di Swike Kuah (kodok).
Lumayan bisa buat alternatif untuk yang ingin tahu rasa kuah swike tapi dietnya halal.
Soto ini memakai ayam kampung, sehingga sedikit keras untuk standard soto ayam, tapi tetap bisa dinikmati.


Priced at Rp 14.000 for a regular chicken Soto, it's appropriate for the ambiance, which is outdoorsy and without air conditioner. Taste-wise, I'm more of a Surabaya/ Lamongan Soto fan.
This Soto also uses free range chicken (ayam kampung) which tend to be healthier but a bit tougher.
