Somerset Hotel Surabaya - Breakfast
Sebulan ini saya hilir mudik di situsnya Agoda untuk mencari hotel, berhubung bakal perjalanan wisata bulan Oktober.
Salah satu yang saya lihat selain kamar dan lokasi adalah foto breakfast yang disediakan.
Sayangnya jarang sekali manajemen hotel yang menampilkan foto breakfast yang disediakan dalam tampilan menarik.
So I recently book a lot of hotels in Agoda for my next trip, and being a foodie, I found myself perusing about their sites, looking for what kind of breakfast they're serving.
Too bad sometime they only provide minimal details about what kind of food they're gonna serve.
I sometime based the decision of choosing a room based on the perks and amenities instead of solely on the room and location. A lavish American breakfast would surely get me drooling in comparison to simple continental ones :D
Minggu lalu kita berkesempatan icip-icip breakfast di sini karena ada kolega ayah Enni dari Vietnam, yang pagi-pagi buta berangkat dari Surabaya ke Lombok, jadinya fasilitas breakfastnya tidak dipakai. Daripada mubazir (alesan biar ga keliatan nggragas) akhirnya kita mencoba makan pagi di sini sambil sedikit mengantuk.
Last week we had the chance to try the breakfast here. There's a colleague of Enni's dad that comes from Vietnam and stayed here. There were dozens of them and they all check out early in the morning without breakfast. So we ended up sampling the breakfast fare here, with a bit drowsiness since it was early morning, and we seldom eats breakfast at home.

Masalah rasa termasuk standard, tidak ada yang spesial sih, tapi worth it banget untuk standard harganya yang terjangkau. Saya lihat di website Agoda, beda antara kamar untuk berdua, hanya Rp 75.000 antara kamar yang termasuk breakfast dan tidak, jadi per orang hanya cukup menambah Rp 37.500.
Taste-wise it just plain old breakfast, the kind you'd get from any 4 star hotel. Some perks are nice, like their Saeco Royale coffee machine, but from the two cup I ordered, one taste nice, the other just meh. I peek at the Agoda website to look at the deals, turns out it just gonna costs you an extra Rp 37.500 a person for breakfast, which is under $3, for that price, it's a good bargain.
So to recap, Taste-wise standard, value-wise a great deal.

Hotelnya terletak di Surabaya barat, jalan Raya Kupang. Hanya butuh beberapa menit untuk sampai di gerbang tol, jadi cocok untuk menjamu relasi bisnis yang mengunjungi pabrik / tempat usaha di luar kota, juga untuk penggemar kuliner yang ingin mencicipi kafe dan tempat makan baru di Spazio, G-Walk atau daerah sekitarnya.
The hotel is located in the western part of Surabaya, really close to the highway. It would take literally just a few minutes to get to the highway. So it really suitable accommodation for business travelers going outside of town for a factory visit or such, and also for foodies looking to sample the up and coming cafes and eatery in Spazio, G-Walk or Darmo Permai areas.
