Resto satu ini adalah penyedia makanan paling populer di Surabaya, ayam goreng, tapi cara masaknya berbeda dengan resto ayam goreng lain yang sudah lama ngetop seperti Suharti dan Pemuda.
Di sini ayamnya dipresto dengan pressure cooker, sehingga lunak sampai ke tulangnya. Alhasil, kita bisa menikmati semua bagian ayam hingga ke tulangnya.
This restaurant caters one of the most popular dish in Surabaya, fried chicken. They do it with a twist though, instead of the regularly fried chicken like the one you can find in Ayam Goreng Suharti or Ayam Goreng Pemuda, they cooked the chicken in pressure cooker before hand, so you get a really soft chicken, which you can eat whole, bone and all.

Ayam Presto Telur asin ini adalah salah satu hidangan mereka yang relatif baru, mengingatkan saya pada resep yang biasanya dipakai untuk udang goreng, di sini ayam goreng presto mereka diberi topping lelehan telur asin
This is one of their new dish, fried chicken, pressure cooked and then drizzled with salted egg. salted egg here are usually duck eggs, which usually are served hard boiled, with the outer shell turned tinted green color.

This Fried Chicken with crisp is one of their original recipe, which I've tried several years before in their Kartini branch. This dish reminds me of Ayam Goreng Suharti's chicken dish, which as far as I know, was the first to use crisps on their fried chicken dish.

Tahu Telornya lumayan, sayangnya menggunakan melinjo, rasa melinjo sendiri agak mirip dengan saus kacangnya, sehingga hasilnya terlalu eneg. Andai menggunakan krupuk biasa, rasanya pasti lebih enak, rasanya tempat ini satu-satunya yang menyajikan melinjo untuk pendamping tahu telor / tahu tek yang saya pernah temui, dan ada sebabnya kenapa sangat jarang digunakan krupuk melinjo untuk pendamping tahu telor.
Biasanya tahu telor disajikan begitu saja, dengan acar, atau dengan pendamping krupuk putih, saya tidak begitu tahu nama jenis krupuk ini, untuk fotonya bisa dilihat di post saya tentang tahu tek Pak Gendut (http://www.foodgrapher.com/2012/11/tahu-tek-pak-gendut-surabaya.html)
Their Tahu Telor (tofu & egg) is quite nice, but I don't like the Mlinjo cracker / Emping they use for the dish. Berhubung ini adalah asinan betawi pertama yang saya (ingat) makan, jadi tidak bisa membandingkan dengan hidangan sejenis. Menurut selera saya, rasanya cukup enak, sedikit berharap ada rasa kecut yang lebih dominan, berhubung saat pesan sempat kepikir asinan bogor, ternyata cukup jauh bedanya.
This dish is called asinan betawi or pickled vegetable Betawi style. Since this is my first encounter with the dish, I can't say much. I like the dish though, despite expecting it to be more tangy. I though the dish had similarities with the more famous Asinan Bogor, which descriptions you can find in wikipedia :
Asinan is a pickled (through brined or vinegared) vegetable or fruit dish, commonly found in Indonesia. The term asin is Indonesian word for "salty", which refers to the process of preserving the ingredients by soaking them in a solution of salty water. Asinan is quite similar to rujak', which is usually served fresh, while asinan is preserved vegetables or fruits. Of the many types and variations of asinan in Indonesia, the most popular are asinan Betawi and asinan Bogor.
- Asinan Betawi: The vegetable asinan of the Betawi people from Jakarta is preserved Chinese cabbage, cabbage, beansprouts, tofu, and lettuce served in a thin, hot, peanut sauce with vinegar, topped with peanuts and krupuk (especially krupuk mie).
- Asinan Bogor: The fruit asinan of Bogor city, West Java is preserved tropical fruits, such as raw mango, water apple, papaya, ambarella, jicama, nutmeg and pineapple served in sweet, hot and sour vinegar and chili sauce, sprinkled with peanuts.

Untuk ayam gorengnya lumayan enak dan harganya termasuk sangat terjangkau, mengingat kualitas bahan dan tempatnya.
Untuk rasa, menurut saya masih kalah enak dibandingkan dengan ayam goreng Suharti, namun walau kalah di rasa, mereka menang telak di value dan tempat.
Seingat saya harga ayam goreng Suharti per ekor adalah Rp 79.000 sedangkan di sini, harga ayam goreng crispynya hanya Rp 54.000 per ekor.
Pilihan menunya pun cukup beragam, jadi yang tidak terlalu ingin makan berat bisa memilih menu sayurannya. Berbeda dengan Suharti yang menu selain ayam hanya ada menu berat seperti soto dan gudeg.
Rasa Tahu Telor dan Asinan Betawi di atas cukup ok, mengingat resto ini spesialisasinya di ayam goreng.
Their chicken dishes, which are their speciality are quite nice, and they also serve a good valued meal, considering the quality of the food and ambiance.
Tastewise, I think Suharti still have the edge, but what they lack in taste, they make up well in the value and atmosphere of the restaurant.
A whole chicken dish in Suharti is Rp 79.000, while here they are priced Rp 54.000. And the restaurant atmosphere is a far cry from the old stuffy place of Suharti's restaurant in Sulawesi Street.
They also have more varieties in their menu, though not excessively so. For those who don't want to consume too many calories can opt for the vegetable dishes. Whereas in Suharti aside from the chicken dish, you can only get equally rich dishes such as Soto and Gudeg.
