Sepintas saya sempat bertanya-tanya apa ini cabang modernya sego sambal Mak Yeye Wonokromo, ternyata berbeda dengan warung fenomenal itu.

Walaupun beda dengan Mak Yeye, tapi resto satu ini tempatnya nyaman dan harganya juga terjangkau.

There's a famous street food in Surabaya under the same name, Sego Sambal Wonokromo, which is Mak Yeye. 

Though similarly named, this eatery are not affiliated with the famous street food. Despite that, on the plus side, they do have a comfortable place and quite affordable price.

Sego Jangkrik - Rp 14.000

Cabang yang kita kunjungi siang ini adalah yang di Villa Bukit Mas. Tempatnya seperti saya sebut di atas cukup nyaman, tapi kalau dari segi masakan termasuk biasa saja. Mungkin yang ada di Waroeng Jangkrik Jemursari lebih lezat, karena saya sempat membaca review yang menyanjung tempat itu.

The branch we visit was in Villa Bukit Mas, west part of Surabaya City. Seems comfortable enough for this kind of eatery, but the dishes wasn't that great.
If you happen to be closer to the city center, you can try their branch in Jemursari, which has garnered some good reviews.

Sego Sambal Wonokromo  (Rp 17.500)

Rasa masakan yang dihidangkan cukup standard, tidak ada yang kurang tapi juga tidak sampai bikin kepingin kembali.

Menu dan porsinya cocok untuk makanan sehari-hari, andai restonya buka di dekat tempat kerja saya bakalan cocok untuk alternatif makan siang, tapi untuk wisata kuliner, sepertinya masih banyak tempat lain yang lebih menarik.

Dishes here are pretty standard, would work great as an office lunch, but not so much a culinary destination for me.

Sego Sambal Wonokromo  (Rp 17.500)

Di bagian bawahnya tempe dan daging empal, makanan dengan tekstur unik itu adalah telur goreng. Rasanya unik, tapi berhubung tidak gemar telur jadi terasa biasa doang.

That net textured thing bellow the toppings (tempeh and beef) is a fried egg. It has a unique feature and the texture are also peculiar, but egg not being a favorite ingredients for me, I don't find it particularly tasty.

Tempe + Sambal - Rp 10.000

Untuk selera saya, tempat ini sepertinya cocok untuk rehat makan siang. Kalau ingin tempat yang cukup nyaman dan terjangkau bisa kunjungi tempat satu ini. Walau dari segi rasa termasuk biasa, tapi penampilannya cukup menarik untuk harga yang ditawarkan.

Overall this place would be suitable for those on a lunch break, trying to find somewhere quite affordable for lunch while still being comfortable. Though taste-wise it's just mediocre, the plating are quite nice for the price offered.
