Kali ini saya ingin sharing tentang pengalaman menginap di kapal merangkap rumah (house boat) di Amsterdam.

Lokasi houseboat ini ada di Amsterdam Marina, dan cukup mudah untuk ke tempat ini dari bandara Schipol. Cukup bertandang ke central station di Amsterdam, lalu menyebrang ke dermaga yang menyediakan feri gratis untuk penyebrangan.

In this post, I'd like to share with you guys one of the best lodging I've had the chance to savor. It's not a posh hotel, instead it's a houseboat. The lodging is located in Amsterdam Marina, which is quite easy to get to from Schipol Airport.
You just need to go to centraal station and then go for a 5 minute walk to the dock, where you can ride a ferry for free, to get to the Marina.

Lokasi tempat menginap ini merangkap tujuan wisata yang cukup menarik juga, bisa untuk foto-foto dan ada tempat makan yang cukup populer di dalam lokasi marina.

This lodging area doubles as a tourist destination, since the sceneries are quite beautiful, and there's a popular eatery around the Marina.

Lokasi ke houseboat-nya ada di dalam semacam tempat parkir boat, untuk masuk perlu kode dari pemilik boat. Biasanya sebelum ke Marina kita bisa janjian dengan pemilik boat, Monique dan Patrick untuk bertemu di centraal. Sayangnya saat itu kita nyasar dan tidak bisa mendapat koneksi internet.

Akhirnya kita sempat mendapat sinyal wifi di supermarket di Marina dan menghubungi mereka untuk bertemu.

To get to the houseboat we need to get to the boat docking area which also doubles as residential area for boat owners.
To get here, you usually only need to wait for the boat owners, Monique and Patrick, to meetup in Centraal. Too bad we got lost along the way, and didn't get to see them in Centraal. So we ended up going by our-self to the marina, and luckily we get to contact them out of a open wifi signal in nearby supermarket.

Pada perjalanan kali ini saya sempat menginap di beberapa hotel, baik yang bintang 4 maupun 5, seperti Hilton dan Courtyard Marriott. Tapi tidak ada yang sampai berkesan seperti pengalaman menginap di sini.

In this Eurotrip I did manage to stay in some 4 and 5 stars hotel such as Hilton and Courtyard Marriott, but for me personally, the experience pale in comparison to this small but super comfy houseboat.

Patrick, sang kapten merangkap pemilik kapal, cukup baik untuk mengijinkan saya pose untuk foto di kursi kaptennya, dan menunjukkan fitur-fitur yang ada di kapal.

Patrick was nice enough to let me pose in the captain chair, and show me around the boat.

Kamar utama untuk tamu di sini ada di lokasi di atas, tapi ada juga ruangan kecil yang bisa menjadi tempat tidur ala kadar. Sayangnya saya lupa memfoto area tersebut, jadi hanya ada foto satu kamar ini.

This is the photo of the regular guest bedroom, but there's another room, which is small, but can accommodate two other person, provided they don't mind cramping in small space. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of that room, so we're left with this one room photos.

TV di dalam kamar hanya bisa digunakan untuk menonton DVD, karena tidak ada layanan kabel tv di sini. Di ruang keluarga ada TV yang tersedia layanan kabel, tapi saat di sana kita tidak sempat dan tidak ingin melihat tayangan TV, berhubung banyak hal yang lebih menarik, baik jalan-jalan seputar Amsterdam atau menikmati suasana boat.

TV here can be used to play DVD, there aren't any cable tv provided. But you needn't worry, we spent the days strolling around the city and soaking up the atmosphere of boat living, we never miss watching TV at all during our stay.

There's another TV in the living room / main area, which has cable tv, but we didn't bother to use them, since everything else is much more interesting.

Ada dua kamar mandi di sini, yang satu berisi shower, satunya ada toilet / kakus. Awalnya tampak kecil, tapi sebetulnya didesain dengan baik sehingga cukup nyaman, tidak ada kesulitan apa-apa saat menggunakan kamar mandi di sini.
Kalau dibandingkan dengan kamar di kapal, ukurannya termasuk cukup lega. Kamar di dalam kapal yang sebelumnya saya inapi ada di ferry sekitar Finlandia / Norwegia, yang ukurannya lebih kecil dan sesak.

There are two bathroom area here, one is for shower while the other has the toilet. It might seem a tad small, but everything is neat and comfy, so I have no problem using the bathroom here. For a boat, it's much more comfy compared to the last room I stayed, which is a ferry near Finland / Norway.

Harga yang ditawarkan untuk menginap di boat ini sekitar 90 dolar. Untuk tambahan breakfast cukup menambah sekitar 20 dolar untuk berdua, atau 40 dolar untuk berempat, dan saya sangat menganjurkan untuk mencobanya. Berhubung suasana makan pagi di dalam boat ini salah satu highlight perjalanan kita. 

The price for lodging in this boat is about $90 a day. If you'd like to add breakfast, it costs just $20 for two, and thus $40 for four, and I highly recommend you to try it. Since having a breakfast in this boat is one of the trip highlight.
