Seventeen Lounge adalah resto yang ada di lantai 17 dari Harris Hotel Surabaya.
Tempatnya ada di tengah kota, jln Bangka yang ada di area jalan Gubeng.
Berhubung ada di dalam gang jadi tidak terlalu ramai dan hectic, cukup nyaman
untuk jujugan dating.
Seventeen Lounge is a
restaurant located on the 17'th floor of Harris Hotel Surabaya. It's quite
confeniently located, around the Gubeng area which is near the city center, but
in a smaller street so it's not so hectic.

Untuk urusan
instagenic, tempat ini sebetulnya cukup menarik saat dilihat, tapi untuk
foto-foto yang saya ambil sendiri terasa sedikit menantang untuk mencari foto
bagus, terutama saat berusaha foto makanan dalam ruangan private-nya.
Entah memang sulit atau saya saat itu lagi adaptasi dengan lensa baru.
This place looks
quite stunning at first sight, my first impression was tonight it's gonna be an
easy photo taking. Turns out it's quite a challenging shot for me, especially
for the food photo, taken inside the private room.
I'm not sure if it's due to the place being a tad dim and hard for using flash,
or I'm not yet accustomed to my new lenses.

Rasa makanan di sini
rata-rata sesuai standard, tapi juga tidak ada yang menarik. Kalau kita
berkunjung kembali ke sini, alasan utamanya adalah untuk menikmati suasana
restonya, bukan untuk makanannya.
Food here tastes just
standard for us, if we ever go back here, it would be for the interesting
ambiance instead of the food.

Cordon bleu-nya not
bad sih, tapi porsinya menurut saya kok terlalu kecil untuk harganya.
Penampilannya sih memang 'cantik', walau platingnya agak repot mau difoto
supaya bagus, antara piring dan makanannya kurang imbang ukurannya, ditambah
lagi sausnya ditaruh dalam wadah keramik.
Untuk perbandingan cordon blue dari Carnis di bawah ini harganya
Rp 35.000, beda harga ini wajar karena kualitas tempatnya memang beda jauh,
tapi alangkah baiknya kalau antara hidangan beda harga 2x lipat lebih ini
andai ukurannya mirip.
Resto Carnis ini salah satu kokinya ex resto Calvados, detailnya
akan saya bahas di post berikutnya yang akan tayang akhir minggu ini.
The Cordon bleu
tastes alright, but the portion is minuscule for my point of view, and judging
it from their price point.
I suppose they're
aiming for a 'pretty looking' dish, despite that, I found that taking photo of
this dish is quite challenging due to the massive plate and the ceramic sauce
bowl.
For a comparison,
here's a similar dish from a new restaurant, Carnis. Please note that Carnis is
a simple eatery, so the price differences is reasonable. It's just that for me
it would be much better if the dish with twice the price, would be portioned
similarly to the dish from Carnis which is half of Seventeen Lounge's price.

Saya senang dengan
tempat yang cukup perhatian dalam serving beverage, dengan menaruh potongan
jeruk nipis dalam cola untuk menambah nikmatnya rasa
I like how this place
put a little extra on their cola, a slice of lime which really enhance the
beverage taste. Those small touch really makes a difference for me.
