Di daerah Kombes M Duryat dan Pregolan ada banyak tempat makan yang cukup populer, biasanya berupa restoran ternama yang sudah eksis dari jaman unta tak berpunuk.

Ada satu bakso kaki lima yang tidak kalah menarik, dan buat saya salah satu bakso yang paling enak di Surabaya, bakso Cukul.

Around this area, Kombes M Duryat street and Pregolan, there are numerous restaurant which are well established and widely regarded. Hidden among those gleaming restaurant, lies a simple street food vendor in the fork of the roads, selling Bakso. This stall have a nice tasting bakso which I considered my favorite in Surabaya, called bakso Cukul.

Ke daerah Kombes M Duryat ini biasanya sekaligus satu rute dengan salah satu dari dua, kalau tidak kegiatan notaris di jalan Mawar, berarti butuh ke Jayatana untuk cari produk kecantikan.

Usually we visit this place during our route to either one of this place, weather I'm going to the notary association in Mawar Street, or Enni needing some beauty care product in Jayanata. Both those place are adjacent to this Bakso seller.

Kalau berkunjung saat jam makan, harus siap antri karena satu rombong kecil itu biasanya melayani sekitar 50 orang. Walaupun proses penyajian tidak makan waktu lama, tapi karena jumlahnya yang banyak, biasanya butuh 10 menit sendiri sebelum semangkok bakso tersedia.

If you want to visit this place for lunch, you have to be extra patient. Usually bakso is very fast to serve, but this small cart have to serve up to 50 people or more in a seating, so it usually takes 10 minutes before a warm bowl of Bakso is ready on your table.

Kalau mau sepi bisa ke sini sore, sebelum jam tutupnya pk 19.00, tapi siap-siap saja kalau banyak yang sudah habis. Saat ke sini sekitar pk 17.00 (bukan bulan puasa) yang tersisa hanya bakso dan siomay saja, tahu dan gorengannya habis.

If you don't like queuing, especially in the hot weather during lunch time, you can visit this place in the afternoon. They usually open until 7pm
