Kafe yang sedang hit di Surabaya biasanya salah satu cirinya dibuka di luar mall-mall, tapi ada juga pengecualian untuk beberapa kafe baru, salah satunya Common Grounds yang ada di Galaxy Mall ini.

Usually up and coming cafes that Surabaya people considered as hip has one common trait, which is opened outside of mall enclosure. But there's always some notable exceptions, and one of them is Common Grounds which is located in Galaxy Mall.

Tempatnya lumayan menarik, simple tapi tetap ada sentuhan desain yang cantik. Di mejanya tidak tersedia banyak pernak pernik, hanya ada satu vas bunga. Selera saya sendiri lebih suka dengan kafe yang menyediakan beberapa kebutuhan untuk pelanggan seperti tissue, gula dan sebagainya, di sini perlu minta dahulu, setelah minuman disediakan.

The place is quite interesting and pretty, it's simple and barren, but still taking account of good interior design. A small pet peeves of mine is the lack of amenities, no tissues, no sugar, no coaster, nothing else than a small vase of flower in the table. After the drink arrive, we did have to ask for additional sugar and tissue.

Kita hanya sempat mencoba minuman-minuman saja di sini, dan sepintas rasanya sih termasuk standard, ada beberapa kafe di sekitarnya yang saya lebih suka olahan kafenya, salah satunya di Localist.

We only tried some of the beverages here, and mostly are coffee based. Those coffees are pretty standard for my taste, I found some other cafe in the vicinity more to my liking, Localist for an example.

Common Grounds Cappucino Al Freddo - Rp 40.000

Minuman yang paling menarik buat kita malah smoothies di atas yang berwarna hijau, sayangnya saya agak telat menulis review ini beberapa bulan setelah difoto, jadi sudah lupa nama pastinya apa, tapi rasanya segar, ada manis dan asamnya, kalau tidak salah seperti ada campuran kiwinya.

One of the most interesting drinks we tried were the green smoothies in the top of this post. Too bad I'm not sure what it's name is, since this post are written a few months after. The smoothies taste sweet and tangy, it's refreshing and I remembered there's a hint of kiwi fruit taste in it.
