Kalau sudah bosan dengan makanan itu-itu saja di pusat kota Singapura, bisa mencoba beberapa tempat tersohor yang ada di pinggiran kota. Saya cukup beruntung memiliki beberapa teman sekolah yang menetap di Singapura, jadi bisa mendapat info tentang tempat makan favorit.

If you're bored with those same kind of eateries you've been frequenting in down-town Singapore, here I've got a new suggestion for your dining pleasure.
I'm quite lucky to have friends from school that are kind enough to take me eating around Singapore,so I get to know what's the local favorites are.

Saya ke sini dengan dijemput teman dari penginapan di Clarke Quay (Fragrance Riverside Hotel) lalu meluncur ke tempat ini. Tidak lama dari tengah kota, sekitar 15 menit sudah sampai di resto ini. Tempatnya sederhana tapi tampak cukup ramai walau hari biasa.

My friend took me here using their car. It's about 15 minutes drive from Clarke Quay (Fragrance Riverside Hotel) where I stayed. The place is quite lively, although the appearance of the eatery is a bit crude in this photo, it's actually quite comfortable for the type of place.

Menu yang paling menarik dan paling cepat habis malam itu (mohon maklum fotonya telat :p) adalah Pork Ribs dengan saus kopi.
Rasanya mirip dengan Baikut yang dimasak saus madu, tapi rasa bumbunya lebih berat dan pahit karena adanya unsur kopi samar-samar. Lebih mirip karamel mocca rasa sausnya, recomended banget untuk dicoba.

The most interesting menu is the one above, I didn't get to photograph the complete dish since we were quite curious on how it tastes.
It's similar to those Honey Glazed Pork Ribs, with a hint of caramel mocha taste. It has a subtle bitterness and heaviness of the coffee.

Menu lainnya juga layak dinikmati, berhubung yang pesan malam ini adalah teman-teman saya, menu atas ini terlewatkan dari ingatan saya, tapi tastenya enak juga. Tidak ada masakan yang rasanya so-so doang malam ini, semuanya unik dan menarik, terutama kalau dibandingkan Surabaya, menu di sini terasa unik dan lezat.

All of the other dishes we tried tonight were also a hit. I leave the ordering of the food to my friends, so I didn't remember the above dish name.
None of the dishes serves in this post were mediocre, every one of them felt both interesting and delicious.


Two Chef Eating Place - Baked Fried Oat Prawns (S$15-25)
Walau penampilannya ala depot, olahan masakan di sini mengingatkan saya dengan resto kelas menengah ke atas di Surabaya. Jauh berbeda taste-nya dengan depot serupa di Surabaya yang biasanya lebih berat cita rasa masakan dan bumbunya.
Kalau dibandingkan dengan Surabaya, menu-menu unik demikian biasanya saya temukan di resto kelas menengah ke atas.

Though you can see that the eatery is simple and spartan, the cuisine on the other hand are the opposites. It reminds me of Surabaya's top Chinese Restaurants. Though it can be a tad pricey for the looks of the eatery, I think it well worth the price.
