Mexican Food in River Valley

Post kali ini tentang menikmati nuansa 'pinggir kali' di Singapura, yang sebetulnya Surabaya juga ada, tapi sayangnya tidak tertata dengan baik :p
Muchos ini ada di deretan River Valley / Clarke Quay, yang ada Jumbo Seafood restaurant.

Lokasinya cukup menarik untuk menikmati suasana dan melihat orang lalu lalang.

This time I'd like to share an experience we had enjoying the river view around Singapore.
It kinda reminds me of Surabaya's own river in some way, which is also pretty, albeit much less developed and decent eatery are non existant.

Muchos here is a mexican restaurant / bar located in the Clarke Quay area, in the same place where you'd find Jumbo Seafood Restaurant. It's a good place to relax and do some people watching.

Muchos - Schweppes Bitter Lemon (S$ 5.5,+)

Review tempat ini sedikit jelek, terakhir saya lihat mendapat di bawa 3 star di Google Review. Kalau melihat rasa dessert yang kita pesan dan sedikit mengicipi Muchos Platter (tidak difoto karena berantakan :p) sebetulnya tidak buruk-buruk amat. Kemungkinan besar orang kurang puas karena harganya relatif tinggi, bahkan untuk ukuran Singapura.

This place wasn't fortunate enough to get a decent review in Google Review. It was scored bellow 3 star in google review. Which I think mostly due to the price rather than the quality of the food or place. It is quite expensive mind you, even for Singapore standard.

Muchos - Pussyfoot (S$ 10.90,+)

Yang ada ide ke tempat ini adalah klien kantor notaris saya, dan untungnya dia yang memilih tempat, andai saya yang milih, bakal ribet googling dulu, lalu batal ke sini karena reviewnya kurang ok.
Kalau mengingat tempatnya cukup menarik, sebetulnya tempat ini bukan pilihan buruk. Mengingat saya satu hari sebelumnya mengunjungi bar di lantai atas hotel, dan harga minuman di sana dipatok sekitar S$20 per gelas untuk mocktail.

Going here was actually due to my client's suggestion. Which is quite convenient, because if it were me deciding, I'd skip this place due to the bad reviews.
Seeing that the place is quite nice, with a premium view of the river, I'd say the price is justified.
I most often goes to Hawker Centers in Singapore, but on this occasion, I had tried going to a exquisite bar in Swissotel top floor, City Space bar, and the mocktail there were about S$20. That previous day experience somewhat makes the price here seems decent.

Selain dessert dan mocktail / softdrink di atas, kita juga sempat mengicipi muchos platter, yang tidak sempat difoto. Rasanya cukup enak, tapi kita memang jarang sekali makan masakan meksiko, jadi kurang tahu apakah standard rasanya bagaimana. Di Surabaya resto meksiko biasanya tidak bertahan lama.

Apart from the mocktail and desserts pictured here, we also sampled the Muchos Platter, which was pretty good. We don't often goes to a Mexican restaurant so can't comment much if it's up to the standard, but we did find the meal enjoyable.
