La'gent Plaza hotel - Shin Hakodate Hokuto

Here's a recommendation for a lovely stay in Hokadate.
We went here on a stopover for Sapporo, which we took using JR Pass. It's a great value pass for traveling around Japan by train, but be warned though, sometime you get a standing ticket. So if you want to use JR pass, best to avoid peak holiday season in Japan.

View from the room - La'gent Plaza Hotel Hakodate

This hotel is located directly next to Shin Hakodate station, which is the station for Shinkansen.
On the down-side, it means you need to take another train to get to the Hakodate city. Despite that,on winter is much more convenient to stay in Shin Hakodate as opposed to Hakodate, it's quite and pleasant, and you need to only lug your suitcase outside in the snow for a 20 meter walk.
